She was born in Turkey. She graduated from Mimar Sinan University, the Fine Arts Faculty, in Istanbul. She started to exhibit her artwork before her graduation. Sevil Soyer is an award-winning Artist and her art works have been exhibited worldwide. She has established a distinguished career as a result of her talent. She founded, organized and directed the first INTERDISCIPLINARY ART PERFORMANCE in Istanbul in 1994 and it was also the 1st interdisciplinary art work in the world. The Cultural Minister of Turkey supported this activity. She created the 2nd Interdisciplinary Art Performance in Michigan, USA, in 2003. She is still the advisor of the Turquoise Art Gallery in Michigan. She is one of the well-known artist with her installations and interdisciplinary art.

Sevil Soyer has also worked for several advertising agencies as an Art Director and Assistant Director in some commercial films. She has had these same roles, that of Art Director and Assistant Director in several documentary films as well.
